ZP Meals in Orange HomeThis is a featured page

Welcome to our collaborative "Wiki" website for planning our Zen Peacemaker community meal offerings in Orange MA. This is a joint effort of the Montague Farm Zen House, the Montague Farm Zendo, and the North Quabbin Time Bank, with input from the Peacemaker Circle of Northampton. We invite any other individuals or organizations to join with us to make these meals happen. This project is coordinated by Karen Kisui Werner and John Genyo Sprague.

We are getting ready for our next meal, which will be Thurs. June 17th at 5:30pm (prompt.)

The meal is served at
Bethany Lutheran Church, 62 Cheney St in Orange.

To sustain this effort for the long-term, we are bringing in many hands to help. Please look over this list of tasks and see what you might be able to contribute. At the end of the list there are very simple instructions for using this "Wiki" to write your name next to your chosen task(s).

** THE July 26th, 2010 MEAL**

1. Donating Resources (Money and/or Garden Surplus)

Money:
- Duncan Sings-Alone (monthly donation)
- Éowyn and Brett Ahlstrom (monthly donation)

Surplus from your farm/ garden/ CSA share:

2. Preparing the Meal

Note to those preparing the various dishes:

To coordinate the meal, we ask that you sign up for a designated dish, for instance the main dish or a side dish or dessert, etc. Please tell us the specific item you plan to bring, as well. Some individuals choose generously to both make and pay for a dish as their contribution -however, this is not expected. Please tell Karen the amount you spend (we will need receipts for clear accounting), and you will get reimbursed. If you need money upfront to buy ingredients, also please contact Karen. Note that we may have donated ingredients available to use. Also when purchasing supplies for your dish, if you mention to the super market that this is for a community meal, staff will sometimes give you a better deal. While we aim to provide a high quality meal, please be conscious of budget when purchasing ingredients for which you expect to be reimbursed.

If you plan to prepare food but not to serve or come to the meal site, please deliver the food to the Montague Farm House by Thurs May 20 at 3pm and Karen can deliver it. Wednesday night delivery of food to Montague can be arranged. If you plan to serve or join us for the meal, you can bring your dish to Orange yourself. If that is the case please be at the church by 5:15 pm.

"Wiki" instructions!

Now for the instructions about how you can sign up for one of these tasks in the above list. It's very easy.

After you decide how you would like to be involved in the upcoming meal, click "Easy Edit" (you'll see it if you scroll up to the top of the page -it's right above the words ZP MEALS and inside an orange circle.)

Scroll back down to the SIGNING UP area and type in your name and other needed info (i.e. kind of food you are preparing if that is relevant.)

Click "Save" (once you're in edit mode you will see it up at the top in an orange tool bar.)

You will be asked if you want to send an end note. Say "Skip End Note."

You are all set. It's that simple!

Your name and other info will now be included on the Wiki for everyone to see, so we can develop this collective plan for the upcoming meal.
Here's to "many hands" and a beautiful meal.
Many thanks to contributions by UK Cottages

I'm assuming that Donna will use carrot, onions and garlic for main dish, but probably will not use beets. Can someone please confirm this? Where should I go to get the beets?

Thanks!
